Vetting steps for the Pine & Paws Collective

1) Application

A short form so we can understand your experience, care style, availability, and communication.

2) In-person vetting conversation

Two-part format: a short structured section plus open conversation. We align on care standards, safety philosophy, and communication expectations. We’ll also walk through a few real-world scenarios.

3) Conditional acceptance

If it feels like a strong fit, we will invite you to move forward to the verification step. This is where we confirm trust and readiness before any client-facing work begins.

4) Required proofs and checks

References are required. If we decide to move forward, we will request identity verification and a background check. If you drive pets, we will also request a driving record check.

5) Paid trial phase

3 to 5 paid trial bookings to confirm fit, handling, and communication in real situations. We start with lower-risk pets and build from there. You’ll receive clear feedback during the trial.

6) Full collective status

After a successful trial, you are approved as a vetted Pine & Paws sitter and may receive ongoing leads that match your schedule and care style.

Optional mini note to place under the steps

We run checks only after we decide to move forward, and before any solo bookings. This keeps the process fair, respectful, and consistent.
